Projects and Events

The Rotary Club has arranged a wide range of events and projects since the Club was founded as far back as 1987...

Some projects are specific one-off events, others take place every, or most, years.

Some start as one-off and we find they are so well received , that we do it again and again, but many examples of the Club's work cannot be shown here, because they consist of help to individuals to pursue a vocational course, receive some help with a problem, or tackle a personal challenge that would be impossible without the Club's assistance.

On these pages are a selection of  examples. We hope they show the variety of ways in which the Rotary target of "Service above Self" is achieved in Alresford:-

1. The Club decided that to mark the year 2000, it would do something for people in need, rather than build a monument or plant trees, for example.  So we contacted the Sights Savers organisation and launched our own Eyes 2000 Project. Click here for details

2. Each year the Club holds its Fireworks Party. Click here for details

3. Alresford Rotary not only helped to fund the cost of the new town minibus but every two weeks from May until August they also take Alresford senior citizens out for leisure drives.. Click here for details

More (much more) to come....when I've done the work.....
